COVID-19 Update

At this time, we are concurrently planning for an in-person and a virtual festival. It is our hope that we will be able to gather the fiber arts community together in-person at the annual Flag Wool & Fiber Festival from June 5-6, 2021 in Flagstaff, Arizona. However, we continue to recognize the progression of COVID-19 in our community and throughout the United States, and will prioritize the health and safety of our participants, attendees, and community members by holding a virtual event if we deem an in-person festival to be an unnecessary risk and if city, county and state regulations have event restrictions in place.

Planning for the festival begins one year in advance. A small, women-run volunteer team leads the way, from securing partnerships and funding, to identifying and promoting artists, to planning and organizing the festival. We love celebrating and supporting fiber arts in Northern Arizona, and recognize the vital role this festival plays in supporting our local creative economy. As we move through the early part of 2021, we will be addressing all the moving parts involved in making the festival happen—from coordinating participant availability, to securing the festival grounds, to fiscal year deadlines for grant and funding support—that may drive the decision for an in-person versus virtual event.

In order to continue to protect yourself, your family and friends, and your community members, we ask you to please keep in mind those in our world who do not have age and health privilege. We ask everyone to play their part in hand washing, social distancing, and other measures that not only protect you, but protect those who can't protect themselves. Please visit www.cdc.gov for current information, steps to prevent illness, what to do if you are sick, and how to keep work, schools, and communities safe.

Whether in-person or virtually, we look forward to seeing you at the 2021 Flag Wool & Fiber Festival.
