We are pleased to share one last video tutorial series with workshop instructor Lucy Jennings. In Tapestry with Fabric Strips, Lucy will walk you through weaving tapestry with fabric instead of yarn. This is a great way to craft with every day material found around your home.
Weaving with fabric is often called rag weaving, but Lucy likes to refer to it as fabric weaving. You can turn fabric you have on hand into blankets, tablecloths, wall hangings, clothes, and even rugs. If you've got a fabric stash (or even old clothing!), this is the perfect project.
Lucy Jennings studied weaving at Northern Arizona University where she received an MA in Art Education. Her work has appeared in Handwoven magazine, and she has sold her handwoven clothing and beaded jewelry at local and national craft shows.
Lucy is an elementary school teacher and has been teaching kids to weave for over thirty years. She’s also taught at Mohave Community College and in workshops at her local yarn shop. You can find her weaving tutorials on her website, The Creativity Patch.
She lives in Kingman, Arizona where she has two dogs and too much yarn.
