About the Design
Rising over 12,000 feet above the Northern Arizona horizon, six volcanic peaks separate earth and sky. The San Francisco Peaks, traditionally known to the Hopi as Nuva’tukya’ovi (The Place of Snow on the Very Top) and to the Navajo as Dook’o’oosłííd (The Summit Which Never Melts), are a sacred place to thirteen tribes. The peaks are the home of ancestral spirits, medicinal herbs, and pure drinking water.
The Sacred Peaks Cowl pays homage to this beautiful and sacred land, from the towering ponderosa pines and quaking aspens that sit on the mountain flanks, to the golden meadows and dramatic night sky that surround them.
