About the Instructor

Patti Morriss is a self-taught needle felt artist. Her work is strongly influenced by her studies with the Bear Creek Needle Felting Academy. She first learned skills and techniques through online courses taught by shepherd and needle felt artist Teresa Perleberg. After just ten months of practice, Patti was able to design and create a sculpture of a ram inspired by the Flag Wool and Fiber Festival logo. The life-sized needle felted sculpture was part of the 2018 festival competition, and her piece was awarded Best in Show.

Patti sells her creations and kits under the name MittenMatcher Felt and has been a vendor at the Flag Wool and Fiber Festival and The Sunday A'Fair at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts. She has taught workshops at Peaceful Prairie Ranch, Cedar Lake Ministries Conference Center in Indiana, and private parties. Currently, she lives in Northwest Indiana with her wonderful husband, Jonathan, and their spoiled dachshunds, Bert and Ernie.
