Flag Wool and Fiber is pleased to announce four distinguished guest speakers to this year's lineup of festival events. Dr. Lyle McNeal, Joan Ruane, Dr. Barbara Jaquay, and Mark Deschinny. Each will be presenting a free hour long lecture with a Q&A session. All lectures will take place in our Lecture Tent behind the Pioneer Museum.
Saturday June 2nd, 11am: Dr. Lyle McNeal, "The Navajo Sheep Project"
Dr. McNeal will be presenting on the origins of the Navajo Sheep Project, the history of Navajo Churro sheep, and the work being done today to preserve the breed.
Saturday June 2nd, 1pm: Joan Ruane, "Fiber Down Under"
Stories from Joan's fascinating life as a fiber artist and teacher, and tales of her fiber adventures in Australia and New Zealand.
Sunday June 3rd, 10am: Dr. Barbara Jaquay, "Everything but the Baaaa..."
Join author and speaker Dr Jaquay for and interesting and entertaining look at unexpected uses for the by-products of sheep.
