Fiber Art Journal with Tammy Kelly (Sunday, June 4)
WORKSHOP REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
Join instructor Tammy Kelly and learn to make a specially themed accordion fold journal filled with inspiring thoughts. Embellishment techniques may include watercolor, beading, dry embossing, thread painting, rubber stamping on velvet, beads and charms, ribbons and scraps, and tulle encasements. Creative expression is encouraged!
As part of the workshop cost, participants will be provided with a kit that includes most materials for the class. The kit will include binder’s board, batik fabric and interfacing for cover, tie or ribbon for closure, fibers and decorative papers to match and optional embellishments such as charms, beads and found items.
The instructor will be in contact with all participants approximately two weeks prior to the workshop to help students preselect a theme and color for their journals. She will also be in touch regarding typing or hand lettering instructions for any sayings, quotes or verses they would like used in the book.
Students will need to bring scissors, a heavy book to be used as a weight, bone folder, clear ruler, and a pencil. Students may also find it helpful to bring a scoring tool for marking lines, basic sewing kit with needles and thread, small paper cutter, found items for embellishing, and large piece of foam core covered with contact paper for a work surface.
