Volunteer at the Flag Wool & Fiber Festival

Are you looking for a way to connect with and give back to your local fiber arts community? Then consider volunteering at the Flag Wool & Fiber Festival! Volunteering at the festival is a great way to play an important role in making the festival possible and to connect with a diverse range of fellow fiber-enthusiasts.

Snacks and alpaca snuggles provided for all volunteers. Individuals volunteering for a four-hour minimum will be provided a free lunch from one of our delicious, local food vendors. Individuals volunteering for an eight-hour minimum will receive select festival merchandise (e.g. a festival t-shirt) and a free lunch from one of our food vendors. Volunteer hours can be cumulative throughout the festival weekend.

Volunteer opportunities for the 2023 Flag Wool & Fiber Festival are listed below. For further information and to sign-up, please email flagwool.volunteers@gmail.com.

Information Booth Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to help staff the festival information booth on Saturday, June 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, June 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is a minimum two-hour shift commitment and longer shifts are welcome. As an information booth volunteer, you will assist festival goers in providing information, maps/handouts, and selling festival merchandise.

Fiber Arts Competition Exhibit Volunteer Attendant
We are looking for volunteers to help staff the fiber arts competition exhibit on Saturday, June 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, June 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a minimum two-hour shift commitment and longer shifts are welcome. As a fiber arts competition exhibit attendant, you will keep an eye on the items being exhibited and assist festival goers as needed.

Festival Breakdown Volunteers
Come lend a helping hand to the Flag Wool & Fiber Festival team to help us breakdown the festival. If you have a couple hours to spare and some muscle power to lend, we’d love your assistance. Breakdown involves removing tent canopies, tables, and chairs; removing banners and signs around the grounds; assisting vendors with carrying merchandise and booth supplies; and other tasks that may arise. Breakdown will occur on Sunday, June 4 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

2024 Festival Planning and Administration Volunteer Staff
Interested in helping to plan and organize the festival? Please email flagwool@gmail.com to inquire. In your email, please let us know what skills you would bring to organizing; your fiber arts background; any relevant festival, business, and arts administration experience; the time (hours per month) you would be able to volunteer; and any other additional information you would like to share.
